Chama - Santa Fe
First we drove through the San Juan Mountains to Taos. Taos is a mixture of old culture - the Taos Pueblo - and new age. We had an excellent breakfast in Michael's Kitchen. We decided not to visit the Pueblo and carried on northwards around the Enchanted Circle.
The Enchanted Circle is an 85-mile loop circling Wheeler Peak. We past through Red River, Eagle Nest, Angel Fire and back to Taos. Angel Fire is a resort complex but nearby there is the very interesting Vietnam Veterans National Memorial.
Back in Taos, we took the scenic route south to Santa Fe, driving through picturesque villages such as Chimayo and Las Trampas.
The central plaza in Santa Fe, a Spanish colonial town, is full of life. An enchanting day in the Enchanted Circle!
