Las Vegas - Flagstaff

This is a long haul day. I had driven this route in the opposite direction in 1996 but this time it seemed even longer. We stopped briefly at at Hoover Dam.

After getting to the hotel in Flagstaff, we carried on eastwards on I-40 to Meteor Crater, the best preserved impact site on earth. The crater is 570 feet deep, 4100 feet across and over 3 miles in circumference - that is what I call a hole!! The Museum explains about the meteor impact and also about the history of space Exploration.
