Bryce Canyon N.P. - St. George
It is just a relatively short drive to to Zion National Park, which was named by Mormon settlers who thought they had found paradise here. Arriving from the east, you first pass Checkerboard Mesa. Before the tunnel, we stopped and walked up the trail to Canyon Overlook - an incredible view of the valley.
Down in the valley, we again drove to the end of the scenic drive. On the way back we stopped at the Weeping Rock which is a rock alcove with dripping springs - be prepared to get wet! There are many trails in the park but we decided to continue our trip to Grafton.
Grafton is a ghost town where the bicycle scene from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was filmed.
We then drove back north on the I-15 to the Kolob Canyon area of Zion National PArk This is much quieter than the main valley and the landscape in my opinion is much more impressive.
